Change Log for Syncopation
Version 2.2
- Improves compatibility with iTunes Plus. Changes to a tracks encoding bit-rate will now be synchronized to other computers.
- Syncopation now preserves the ordering of playlists when transferring them from one computer to another.
- Fixes an issue in which track deletions may not be applied when they should be.
- Fixes a bug in which changes in capitalization of track attributes could cause the track to not be able to be located in the iTunes library.
- New library inspector panels which allow you to see more information about the synchronization status of your environment.
- Adds the ability to force Syncopation to take a baseline snapshot, which allows you to control the sync history of the application.
- Improved handling of video podcasts. They are now controlled by the Podcast sync option, whereas they were controlled by the Movie sync option in past releases.
Version 2.1.3
- Fixes memory leak in Syncopation that would cause the process size to grow over time, potentially resulting in a degradation of performance.
- Fixes issue in which settings for blocked and pinned tracks may not be re-loaded in future sessions.
Version 2.1.2
- Adds support for synchronizing changes to the Enabled attribute (checkmark).
- Improved reporting of reason when no changes found.
- Fixes issue with track removals when using a set of playlists to define Sync set.
- Fixes issue with Playlist preferences sometimes not being saved.
- Fixes issue where pod cats with the same name, but differing only in Release Date were not distinguished as separated tracks.
Version 2.1.1
- Fixes an issue where meta-data changes after the initial synchronization operation could fail to be picked up.
Version 2.1
- Adds support for the following iTunes meta-data: track ratings, play count, last play date, skip count, last skip date, genre, composer.
- Improves ability of the Import without Copying feature to locate tracks when they are stored on a central music server or NAS attached device. Previously, Syncopation required all iTunes libraries to be set to that the iTunes music folder was on the NAS.
- Fixes issues where a manually stopped synchronization was considered a "successful" synchronization for the purpose of computing the deltas for the next update.
- Fixes an issue in which not all track attributes were copied correctly, potentially resulting in the creation of duplicate tracks in the destination library.
- Syncopation will now remember the size of the main window between launches.
Version 2.0.1
- The block/pin state was not being applied correctly in 2.0. This release addresses this issue.
- Fix issue with Import without Copying in which the track files would be copied regardless of the setting of the option.
- Fix some typos, alignment issues, and incorrect labels.
Version 2.0
- Support for iTunes playlists. Playlists and their contents are synchronized between computers. You can also choose a subset of your playlists to define which tracks are synchronized.
- Drag-and-Drop between clients. You can drag tracks from the track list to another source on the left side or drag playlists between sources to transfer tracks.
- Master-Client sync mode. In addition to the peer-to-peer sync mode that was the standard operation mode in Syncopation 1.0, the program now includes a master-client sync mode in which Syncopation clients track changes on a central master server.
- Selective Synchronization. Before starting a sync operation, you have the ability to select which changes will be applied.
- Performance and stability improvements. The engine for doing track comparisons and data transfer was significantly improved.
- More efficient attribute changes. If a track attribute (such as name, album, artist) is changed, Syncopation will apply the attribute change rather than make a new copy of the track and remove the track with the old attribute.
- Support for OS X 10.5 Leopard. Fixes some minor issues that Syncopation 1.0.4 has with compatibility with Leopard.
Version 1.0.4
- Fixes a bug in which synchronization could fail with an error
message saying "Could not get location of track <n>."
Version 1.0.3
- Users can now include or exclude Movies, Podcasts and TV Shows
using preferences.
- Re-worked the preferences UI to use Andreas Mayer's
AMPreferencePane code.
- Fixed an issue where invalid track locations where inserted
into iTunes when the iTunes option "Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library" is not checked.
- Performance improvements in the deletion of tracks.
Version 1.0.2
- Improved memory usage on both the client and the server to make
synchronization less impactful on the computers
- Improved file-transfer logic to better handle very large files
- Changed name of Bonjour service to match application name
- Changed icon for iTunes library to represent the version of
iTunes on the machine
Version 1.0.1
- New "Import without copying" option for experimental support for
network media servers.
- Syncopation can automatically check for new updates.
- Enhanced the information in the Change Log window to help diagnose
problems encountered while synchronizing.
- Added the ability to manually reset the synchronization state
to a clean slate.
- Fixed an issue where tracks were removed from the additions list
even if they could not be transferred.
- Fixed an issue where certain types of tracks were reported
as additions even though they already existed in the library.
- Fixed some display issues with the status area.
- Added a running track count to the transfer progress in the status
area.
- Improved error reporting when Syncopation cannot subscribe to
a remote library.
